Ogden City Water Rates to increase in 2008

According to a recent article in Standard Examiner...  Ogden city residents may pay 28% more starting in 2008. The rate increase is expected to be a five year plan with water rates increasing each of those five years.  in 2009 it will be a 11% increase again in 2010 and 2011. In 2012, the rate will increase another 5%. Qualified users can get a 50% low income discount. With this increase Ogden City plans on doing some major improvements. The following are what they would like to accomplish.
Better water pressure and supply. Ogden's East Bench has issues with water pressure and supply currently.
 New improved sewer pipes
New storm drains and drain pipes.
Ogden plans to borrow $51 million and use the money from the tax increases to help pay for this improvement.  I will report any new developments that I hear about in my future blogs.
